UnChartered: Health, Housing, Human Rights & COVID-19 forum

The Human Rights Law Centre partnered with the UTS Centre for Social Justice and Innovation to hold a forum on Health, Housing, Human Rights and COVID-19.

Annie Butler, Federal Secretary of the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Federation, spoke about the appalling situation in aged care, whilst Kate Colvin from the Everybody's Home campaign outlined how the right to housing needed to be implemented through stronger Government action. The HRLC's Hugh de Kretser outlined how an Australian Charter of Human Rights and Freedoms could help ensure everyone in the community benefited from these rights being respected, and how a Charter helps improve decision making and policy.
